Usually goodbye parties are outright celebrations, full of a quiet undercurrent of don't let the door hit you on the way out, asshole; the mood in the break room is more like a funeral today, until Washington walks in, surveys them all with a raised eyebrow, and asks who died.
2. AU
"That's all you need to say; now shut up," Washington demands before Alexander can continue and incriminate himself; in unison, on some unexamined whim, half the night shift, Eliza, and Angelica all suddenly find themselves thanking god that Washington never transferred to Virginia as planned.
3. Crack!fic Plot
"My entire staff," Washington says slowly -- "except me," Aaron points out, and ignore the expression that twitches across Washington's face -- "except you... has been turned into kittens?"
4. Crossover
The new guy is so tiny even the smallest vest dwarfs him, can't hear anything on one side, and is determined that he knows what he's doing even when he doesn't, but he grins like a firework and ribs back as good as he gets; of course Mulligan slings an arm around his shoulders as they head back for lunch, dragging little Steve Rogers along with him before he has a chance to protest.
5. First Time
It takes twenty minutes in his office for Washington to go from no non-personnel in the backroom to just don't let her be here when day managers come in; "Eliza is magic," Laurens whispers to Alexander, who just smiles.
6. Fluff
"Morning has riiiiiisen, like the first mooooorning," Mulligan warbles, off-key and sounding drunk despite the fact that Aaron's pretty sure he hasn't been drinking; Laurens laughs, his voices joining Mulligan's, strong and clear. Usually hymns bring up thoughts too heavy for after work, but Mulligan grins and tugs Aaron's arm and demands he joins in, and this once, it feels good to sing to the rising sun, to stand with these men he barely understands, to enjoy the feelings of freedom as they stroll across the parking lot.
7. Humor
"A duel," Aaron repeats, completely deadpan; Alexander, who of course would be one of .those assholes who come in at 3 am in pajamas on his day off, nods with an eagerness that Aaron can only attribute to alcohol, plucking a second foam sword off the shelf and tossing it down the aisle.
8. Hurt/Comfort
"Her husband's a manager at Target," Aaron says, dark and resigned; Alexander, waiting for something so much more serious after his quiet you want to know the best part? laughs, but this time Aaron's laughing with him, at least.
9. Smut
"I'm still mad," Eliza says softly against Alexander's jaw; he starts to pull away, and she holds tighter.
10. UST
"She's his sister," Madison protests in an undertone; Lafayette waves that away with, "In law, and that doesn't stop them from the eye-fucking."

Date: 2016-01-04 09:09 am (UTC)She doesn't throw the phone at the wall, but it's a near thing; it's Steve's arms, wrapping around her from behind, that makes her break into sobs instead.
2. AU
"What do you know about reincarnation," the man with the eyepatch says, and suddenly everything she's been dreamining makes a bit more sense.
3. Crack!fic Plot
"I think you wrote this fic once," Peggy says distractedly, trailing her fingers across the giant grey wings that have grown out of Sam's back overnight.
4. Crossover
The tea shop is quiet, even if the server looks like he'd rather drink poison than be listening off the specials, and the tea is good; Peggy decides she'll be coming back even before she glimpses the tall, laughing woman behind the counter and her heart skips a beat.
5. First Time
Bucky touches her like he isn't sure he's allowed to, and it's sweet but it almost breaks her heart; "let me, darling," she offers softly, pulling him closer with a hand at the back of his neck.
6. Fluff
"Girl's day out," Natasha repeats, completely blank, and Peggy has the entirely foreign feeling of being nervous over stating her interest in someone, even obliquely; the butterflies don't go away when Natasha smile slowly, but they turn into quiet excitement, settling warm in her chest.
7. Humor
"I'm British and he's an orphan, darling," Peggy points out, taking another shot before she continues, poking her finger right into Sam's nose and the middle of his amusement, "this is all we do for Thanksgiving."
8. Hurt/Comfort
It isn't long before Bucky and Natasha learn the first rule of the apartment, walking in on Steve and Peggy surrounding a silently crying Sam, flanked by hot chocolate and watching old movies: nobody questions the bad days; they just do what they know makes them a little better.
9. Smut
Peggy isn't any kind of artist, she leaves that to her boys, but she wishes, sometimes, that she could get this down somehow; Steve's mouth smiling against her skin, the solid presence of Sam's hand against her hip, the moments that mean them to her in a way she can never express.
10. UST
It takes two days for Peggy to get tired of waiting for Steve to make a move; she reels him in by the collar and kisses him in the middle of the library, and smiles at his dazed expression, smudged with her lipstick.
