balsamandash: (s] on a strange incline)
[personal profile] balsamandash
So: as those of you hanging around here know, I just moved in with [profile] thebonesofferalletters, my partner of many years, and a third roommate who's joining us this weekend. In doing so I moved about an hour away from my family, which is a much healthier position for me to be in than living with them like I was. I also left my awful job stocking at Walmart, which was hell on both my body (I am not a physically well creature) and my anxiety/depression (I am not a mentally well creature). Which is great for me mentally and physically. Not so much financially. We're surviving, but things are going to be pretty tight at the moment; I am going to be looking for jobs, but unpacking and getting the house set up has been taking longer than anticipated, for a lot of reasons, many of them outside of our control or related to our varied disabilities.

So here's a Tarot-selling post, so that hopefully I can help contribute a little more. For those of you who are unaware, I have fourteen years of experience with Tarot, more than half my life now. (I started when I was twelve.) I've also read for people over the internet a lot in the past few years. I also have access to Oracle cards, and while I don't have quite as much experience with them, they are another service I am more than happy to offer.

Here's how we're going to do this this time around:

Comment and receive a free one-card draw from any Tarot deck. Feel free to pick a specific deck from the list below, and let me know if you have a focus/question or just want a general reading; it would also help if you could list one or two things you strongly associate with (colors, animals, stones, words, hell, even characters -- just something to help me focus a little). I am happy to PM you if you'd like to receive your reading privately instead of publicly; let me know, because the default will be public. (Note: please do not choose the Oracle decks for your free draw; they tend to be a more complete reading in a single card, and take much more energy because of that.)
If you signalboost this post somewhere public and link me to it, you will get a second card also for free! Let me know when you drop me the link if you'd like a different deck from each card (whether of your choice or mine), and also whether you have a different focus/question for the second card.
(Alternately, if you do signalboost, you can get a single Oracle card reading, instead of two Tarot card pulls; please let me know when you reply if you'd like that instead.)

If you would like a longer reading, please see the list of spreads below for pricing! I'm also happy to work with you to find the right spread if you've got a question or a focus, but aren't sure quite which spread would work best for your query.

My Decks: The links for each goes to the Aeclectic Tarot page for the deck, so you can get an idea what the cards look like; I've also included my impressions as well.

Cat's Eye Tarot: Like a cat, it can be a little finnicky; sometimes it take a while to actually find the answer, but it's pretty straight to the point once it gets there.

Ghost and Spirits: A very quiet, very clear deck. I don't have much to say about it - it's a fairly new deck for me - but it's very calm and seems to be willing to give up answers cleanly. It is kind of a cautious deck, and seems to respond better to specifics than generalities.

Halloween Tarot: A theme deck that uses Pumpkins, Bats, Imps, and Ghosts instead of the traditional Pentacles, Swords, Wands, and Cups. (In that order.) However, it is very informative, and honestly kind of eager to help. Playful. I wouldn't bring your most serious situation to it, but it will offer more insight than you might think.

Robin Wood: A very traditional deck, with somewhat more pagan imagery than the default Rider-Waite. Beware, these cards like to scream the answer. They're second-hand and a little angry about being left in a box for as long as they were, so they don't pull their punches.

Spiral Tarot: My oldest -- this deck has been with me the entire fourteen years I've been reading cards -- and my default for a long time. Spiral is a gorgeous and very spiritually open deck; it's good for general queries and internal things. It's also a very gentle deck; they'll still tell you the bad news, but not always directly, and I don't get a lot of shouting from them.

Tarot Draconis: DRAGONS! Quickly becoming my new default deck. The dragons don't screw around very much; if you need a quick, clear answer, they're a good option. They're also good for spiritual things, journeys, and of course, would probably be useful for anything involving air travel.

Tarot of the Little People: Unfortunately, I cannot find pictures of this online; it is a faeries-and-gnomes themed deck. Very grounding, very earthy; these cards are matter of fact and straight to the point.

Oracle Decks:
Fallen Angel: This deck deals best with questions about situations rather than people, especially big and important ones. It's very insistent about things it's trying to tell you, and it's not likely to pull its punches.

Halloween: This deck is very versatile; it's good at playful or serious inquiries, and both internal and external information.

Witchlings: Not a standard Oracle deck; 40 "inspiration cards", each related to a trait and coming with spells/meditations in the booklet. Best used for questions like "what will help me through this situation" or "what should I be working on developing".

Spreads and Prices:
Tarot:
$6 for any three-card draw (past/present/future and mind/body/spirit are the default arrangements, but depending on what you're looking for, we can work out the best trio to answer your query).

$10 for a mini-Celtic Cross reading (six cards, basically the "cross" part of the celtic cross).

$18 for a full Celtic Cross reading (ten cards).

$25 for a month-by-month view of the year to come (twelve cards, covering the period between August 2016 and July 2017).

Oracle:
$3 for a one-card draw.

$8 for any three-card draw (as above, past/present/future and mind/body/spirit are the default arrangements, but depending on what you're looking for, we can work out the best trio to answer your query).

$25 for a full Celtic Cross reading (ten cards; Fallen Angel or Halloween only; please have a specific question or area of life you want focused on if you want this spread with Oracle cards, the more focused the better).

I also am familiar with a number of other spreads, and willing to either discover more or personalize one for your situation; if you want a different spread than the ones listed here, please comment or contact me to discuss what would work for you. (For reference, most other spreads I am familar with are six-card spreads.)

If you have any questions or anything is unclear, feel free to ask! If you'd like to contact me privately, you can PM me, or email me at darkofthestory@gmail.com. You can find my Paypal under nowalouderstrain@gmail.com. Please feel free to spread this far and wide, and thank you for looking!
