*pokes in here* Hi! :D I'm so excited to see you may be joining us! That is so awesome and I look forward to it. One thing I wanted to bring up was the voice stuff. I don't know if it would make things easier or not but August and I live in the same house. If you want, we can hop on voice chat with you for a little while see how you jive with it. If your brain doesn't care for the voicestuff, then we certainly don't have to.
I don't know if this will make things easier or worse, I just wanted to put that out there as a potential option.
(Sidenote: August and I are both amazingly awkward people sometimes, if you turn out to be the same, no one will judge. We will just all be ridiculous via whatever communication methods we go with.)
